Radnor United Methodist Women

O God, today we open the windows of our hearts to you. Fill us with your light so that we might be a window of hope for others. Awesome God, thank you for the window Jesus opened to the world, enabling us to see more clearly the hurts and needs of our sisters and brothers. May we smile at all those we meet today, offering them a glimpse of your joy through our windows. We praise you for opening your window to us every day and in every way. AMEN

THE PURPOSE OF UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

IT'S IN CHRIST

It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. Ephesians 1:11 The Message

Radnor United Methodist Women: (UMW) has two "Circles"

J.O.Y. Circle: (evening) at 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month, September – May. Circle Leader: Pauline Manley

Ruth—Naomi Circle: (daytime) at 10 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month year round. Circle Leader: Dorothy Spies Each Circle chooses from mission study programs which change yearly. The program resources are the United Methodist Women's Program Book and the three mission studies which in 2007-08 are: (1) Globalization, describing how the world is becoming more connected, with discussions of pro's and con's (for example: "out-sourcing" Is it good or bad for the world?) (2) Israel and Palestine (3) Biblical study using music.

It All Starts with God

For everything, absolutely everything above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.  Colossians 1:16 The Message

Four General Meetings are held yearly:

In March CALL TO PRAYER AND SELF-DENIAL Luncheon According to Juanita Brown, The Methodist Woman, July-August 1944:

"This should be a silent day when everyone refrains from discussion and all unnecessary conversation. Silence is observed that one may listen to the Voice within. This silent, listening day may be a deepening day. During such a period the roots of one's being may go farther down than ever before and fasten more surely and more securely about the Foundation Rock of Life—God—than one had previously thought possible. There is unsuspected wonder in a day given to alternate group worship and individual inner secret adoration."

In May: The Annual Mother–Daughter Banquet & Meeting with entertainment
